Regan was born and raised in Yarmouth, the son of the late Richard Murphy, Q.C. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Commerce from Mount Allison University in 2013 and his Juris Doctor from the Schulich School of Law in 2017. He articled with the firm, was called to the Nova Scotia Bar in 2018, and became a partner in 2022.

 

Regan maintains a broad practice with a particular focus on residential and commercial real estate transactions. He regularly advises clients on purchases, sales, refinances, private mortgages, land registration matters, title issues, subdivisions, and property transfers.

 

Since being called to the Bar, Regan has been involved in approximately 200 to 250 real estate transactions annually, representing purchasers, vendors, lenders, and borrowers throughout southwestern Nova Scotia. His experience includes both straightforward residential transactions and more complex title, migration, and boundary matters.

 

In addition to his real estate practice, Regan advises clients on corporate matters and transactions, and represents clients in criminal defence, wills and estates, and personal injury claims.

 

Regan acts as Municipal Solicitor for the Municipality of the District of Yarmouth, advising Council, the Chief Administrative Officer, and municipal staff on matters involving municipal governance, by-law enforcement, property matters, agreements, and litigation.

He has appeared at all levels of court in Nova Scotia, including the Small Claims Court, the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia, and the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal.

 

Regan is a member of the Real Estate Lawyers Association of Nova Scotia (RELANS) and the Association des juristes d’expression française de la Nouvelle-Écosse (AJEFNE).

 

In his spare time, he enjoys hockey, golf, and spending time with his wife, son, and their dog.
